Aliya Garozzo is the Program Coordinator for the Trustworthy Technology Lab within Duke Science & Society. In this role, she helps coordinate research projects focused on data privacy, governance, AI accountability, and the responsible development of emerging technologies. She works with faculty and student researchers to support policy research and develop frameworks that promote transparency, accountability, and public trust.

Aliya holds a Master of Public Policy from Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy, where she concentrated in Technology Policy. Prior to Duke, she received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Criminology with minors in Law & Society and Psychology.   

Outside of her policy work, Aliya is a professional track and field athlete and former NCAA First Team All-American who competed for both Duke and the University of Pennsylvania. She is particularly interested in the intersection of technology and health policy, including how transparency and accountability can be strengthened in health tracking and digital health platforms.
