Australian researchers help find way to regrow heart muscle

Researchers have found a way to trigger muscle regrowth in the heart, which they believe could one day lead to treatment for people who have suffered heart attacks.

The research found it was possible to regenerate muscle cell numbers in the heart by as much as 45 per cent by “turbo-charging” a hormone that helped co-ordinate cell growth.
