Join us for a screening of Who Is Dayani Cristal? As forensic investigators try to identify a body in the Arizona desert, we retrace the anonymous man’s footsteps.
This powerful documentary offers an unflinching look at the risks and often tragic consequences faced by would-be Central American migrants to the US as they make their way through “the corridor of death.” Directed by Marc Silver and starring Gael García Bernal.
After the film we will hold a Q&A with Kate Spradley, PhD, Associate Professor, Department of Anthropology at Texas State University, Chelsey Juarez, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Anthropology and Sociology at NC State University, and Sara Katsanis, MS, Instructor at the Duke Initiative for Science & Society on the subject of DNA and forensic investigations centered on missing migrants.
Join us an hour earlier for Periodic Tables at 7pm.
