We share our bodies with trillions of bacteria and other microbes—together they make up the human microbiome. Duke’s Lawrence David will describe how studies of gut microbiomes, including his own, have shaped our understanding of nutrition, as well as how humans and bacteria co-evolved.
Lawrence David is an Assistant Professor of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at Duke University. His lab seeks to understand, predict, and manipulate how the microorganisms that live in and on humans behave over time.
