The US is quickly becoming an out-of-pocket healthcare system, with high co-pays and even higher deductibles. Duke’s Dr. Peter Ubel will discuss the economics and politics of why this is happening, and what we can do to keep these out-of-pocket expenses from bankrupting those of us who develop serious illnesses.
Dr. Peter Ubel is the Madge and Dennis T. McLawhorn University Professor of Business, Public Policy and Medicine at Duke University. He is a physician and behavioral scientist whose research and writing explore the mixture of rational and irrational forces that affect our health, our happiness and the way our society functions.
Admission is $5. All ticket sales go toward supporting the program.
