Duke Biology’s Sönke Johnsen describes the crooked path that took him from science to art and back to science, and from landlubber to the explorer at the bottom of the ocean. Along the way he’s tried to understand the remarkable ways in which sea creatures use light and color to their advantage…and our amazement.
