Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease) is an incurable degenerative disease of the motor nerves, resulting in rapidly progressive disability and shortened survival. There are seemingly impossible stories on the Internet of people recovering from this disease, sometimes in association with their use of an alternative therapy such as energy healing. What if some of these “ALS reversals” are real?
Dr. Richard Bedlack is Associate Professor of Medicine/Neurology at Duke, Director of the Duke ALS Clinic, and Chief of Neurology at the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
