Duke Welcomes Lee Tiedrich to the MA in Bioethics, Tech Ethics, & Science Policy Core Faculty

The Duke MA in Bioethics, Tech Ethics, & Science Policy is pleased to announce the arrival of Lee Tiedrich, the new Distinguished Faculty Fellow in Ethical Technology, who will join the MA program’s core faculty this Spring. You are invited to a special session on January 10, 2022 at 11:00am where Dr. Nita Farahany, Director of the Duke Initiative for Science & Society, will introduce her and discuss her plans to teach and engage students at Duke.

Ms. Tiedrich’s arrival complements our growing focus in research, engagement, and educational offerings in ethical technology. Ms. Tiedrich will hold a dual appointment with Duke Law School, effective January 1st, 2022.

In the session, Ms. Tiedrich will discuss her career progression as an expert in AI ethics, law, and policy, and how she came to Duke University. She also will talk about the upcoming courses and professional engagement activities available to MA Bioethics, Tech Ethics, & Science Policy students. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of Ms. Tiedrich in this session.

We hope you will accept this offer to meet Director Farahany and Professor Tiedrich, and that this session demonstrates the unique educational opportunity available in the Duke MA in Bioethics, Tech Ethics, & Science Policy program.
