If your mother suffered and died from a debilitating genetic disease, would you get tested for it? Filmmaker Kristen Powers wrestles with this choice in her first documentary, Twitch (2014), which follows her as she decides to undergo genetic testing for Huntington’s disease. She confronts firsthand the stigma, the fear, the complexities, and the uncertainties that come with the choice to learn one’s genetic fate. After the screening, Professor Misha Angrist will lead a discussion with Kristen about her journey. Refreshments will be served. Click here for the flyer.
