twitch-colorlogoTwitch follows 18-year-old Kristen Powers as she undergoes genetic testing for Huntington’s disease, an incurable genetic disorder. After watching her mum suffer from the disease, Kristen decided she wanted to demystify the controversial testing process. So she made a film. The 45 minute documentary will explore the personal experience of living in an HD family, as well as the stigma surrounding both the disease and the genetic test.

Kristen Powers will be joining us for this screening. Kristen, creator of Twitch, is a 22-year-old recent college graduate. She enjoys dancing, farm animals, and engaging in various forms of activism, whether it is for Huntington’s disease awareness or racial justice. She currently splits her time between Durham and Chapel Hill. You can follow her on Twitter at @kapowers1
