Graduate & Professional Student Housing

There are several options for graduate and professional housing through Duke University Housing and Residence Life (HRL). Graduate students will need to be fully admitted to Duke University prior to applying for housing. Assignment priority will be given to Master’s students who demonstrate significant financial need and are applying for an entire year.

Professional Development Resources for Duke Graduate Students

The Duke University Graduate School offers many professional development opportunities and resources for graduate students.

• Writing Support: Duke provides various forms of writing support in partnership with the Thompson Writing Program (TWP) and English Language Support Program.
• Fellowship and Grant Writing Support: The Graduate School and the Writing and Communication Center offer a workshop series on fellowship and grant writing in the humanities and social sciences.
• Professional Development Grant Opportunity: Duke’s Professional Development Grant is available to help fund student efforts to create their own professional development programming. Our students have applied this grant to attend conferences or to create special seminars and events for the Duke community.
• Workshops: Each semester, the Graduate School offers workshops specifically designed for students in the school’s master’s programs.
• Mentorship Guidance: The Graduate School provides toolkits, guidance, and sources for master’s students seeking mentorship.
