Scott "Esko" Brummel

Scott “Esko” Brummel temporarily supports the Initiative in its strategic planning, curriculum development, and mentorship of its students. Before entering into this role, Esko received his Masters in Bioethics and Science Policy from Science & Society in 2018. During his course of study and after graduation, Esko gained extensive experience in policy assessment and technology development with NASA’s Glenn Research Center in partnership with Duke’s Humans and Autonomy Lab. During this time, Esko also served as Lead Policy editor for AI & Robotics policy with Science & Society’s policy tracking site, SciPol.org. Esko has also gained experience in emerging technology policy as a temporary policy analyst at the National Security Agency and at the United Nations Office of Disarmament Affairs in Geneva, Switzerland.
