Explaining the FDA

On Friday, Bernie Sanders announced that he would oppose President Obama’s nominee to lead the FDA, saying that the nominee, Doctor Robert Califf, wasn’t “prepared to stand up to the pharmaceutical companies and work to substantially lower drug prices.” Sanders is either engaging in a dishonest political ploy or he doesn’t understand the purpose of the FDA.
