Victor J. Dzau, M.D., to Be Next Institute of Medicine President

Duke University’s Victor Dzau is to be the next president of the US National Academies’ Institute of Medicine, according to the organization. Dzau is currently the chancellor for health affairs at Duke and the president and CEO of the Duke University Health System. ScienceInsider notes that Dzau has studied the genetics behind cardiovascular disease as well as stem cell treatments and gene therapies, and, while at Duke, he established institutes dedicated to global health, health innovation, and translational medicine.
