NSF Grant Writing Workshop on Broader Impacts

Bostock Library, The Edge Workshop (Room 127)     10:00 AM

Are you working on an NSF grant (or plan to write one in the future) and feel like you could use some guidance on the Broader Impacts (BI) requirement? What are they looking for? What makes a good BI project? How do I find the right partners? Where do I start? What resources are available to me here at Duke to help me write better, more competitive NSF grants?

Answers to these and all of your other questions about the NSF Broader Impacts criterion will be provided in this workshop which is being offered by the Duke Broader Impacts Resource Center (BIRC). Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from representatives of two potential BI partners – the Museum of Life and Science in Durham and the NC Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh – and learn about opportunities to work with them on novel, engaging and compelling BI activities.

This workshop is primarily intended for faculty, but postdocs and graduate students will be invited to attend as space allows.

For more info, please contact Dr. Jory Weintraub (Director, Duke Broader Impacts Resource Center) at jory@duke.edu
