With technology moving information and misinformation at the speed of light, the public consistently questions both the accuracy and value of scholarship. In our increasingly politicized environment, how can we work around partisan politics, elevate accurate information, and increase public trust in the integrity of research? Professor Burness will address these issues and discuss how we can create a more informed future.
John F. Burness is Visiting Professor of the Practice in the Sanford School of Public Policy. Prior to this role, he served for 17 years as Senior Vice President for Public Affairs and Government Relations at Duke. He has also led public affairs offices at three major research universities: Cornell University, University of Illinois, and Stony Brook University.
