Science & Society and the larger Duke community are committed creating opportunities to share science with a broader audience.

From making discoveries that simplify food production in developing countries to enriching local science curricula to studying community-based interventions that can improve family functioning, Duke professors are making a difference in the lives of so many people. The Center for Child and Family Policy provides an integrated system of research, debate, dissemination, public service, and teaching. The Duke Lemur Center is renowned both for its excellent scholarship and for its learning and immersion opportunities for people to study lemurs, behavior, and environment. Meanwhile, the Duke Center for Science Education hosts competitions across campus to develop innovative and engaging curricula for teaching science, technology, engineering, and math in schools and the community.
