Duke 4+1 Applied Ethics Scholarship

The Duke Applied Ethics & Policy Awards offer five exceptional students a 50% tuition scholarship to pursue a Master of Arts (MA) in Applied Ethics & Policy (AE&P) at Duke University. These awards are specifically designed for graduating Duke seniors, allowing them to seamlessly transition into their post-baccalaureate studies in the Fall cohort. Request more information

Duke Applied Ethics & Policy Scholarship Awards

Five awards will be granted each year to Duke University undergraduates applying to the Duke Master of Arts in Applied Ethics & Policy. The awards provide 50% tuition toward the program and are available to Duke seniors entering their post-bac year immediately after graduation.

Eligibility

  • Open to Duke graduating seniors (or potentially earlier graduates) ready to enter the MA in AE&P program in the fall.
  • Applicants must submit their application to the Duke MA in Applied Ethics & Policy program by May 1, 2025. An application submission will automatically make you eligible for the award.
  • Preference will be given to students enrolled in the Science and the Public Certificate or Digital Intelligence Certificate programs.
  • Ideal candidates will have completed coursework in Science & Society (SciSoc) or Bioethics, Univ 103, Applied Ethics+, or participated in DukeEngage in Washington, DC.
  • Majors in Computer Science, Engineering, Sciences, Philosophy, or Public Policy are preferred.

Application Process

  • All completed applications to the Duke MA in AE&P program by the deadline will be considered.
  • Finalists will be interviewed for the scholarship.
  • Apply by May 29th
